Ella M: 'Myself' video – 'summer introspection'
By Run That Again
We were lucky enough to have the privilege of hearing Ella M perform live last year at The Spice of Life in London.
Since then she’s gone on to amass thousands of streams and social media followers across the world, performing all over - from New York to LA, and has produced a killer back catalogue.
Today she releases the music video for ‘Myself’; a neo-soul track oozing a real Nao vibe. The video, a film by Lily Rose Sharp & Luis Muñoz, shows a collection of images epitomising summer introspection, mixed with the cheeky aesthetic of a nostalgic photo album. It’s a relatable homage to questioning oneself; when everything around you appears to be idyllic, even when beneath the surface things might be the opposite. We just love it.
Ella M’s music mixes influences like Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse with a feel-good commercial pop and R&B sound. And with her YELLOW BLAZER EP dropping later this summer, we can’t wait to see the direction she takes next.
